The Starlite DeVilles are an Alt.-Country/PowerPop Rock band based out of Athens, GA. Their sound draws on influences of the pure twang of traditional country to the defiant punk and pop styling of bands like the Replacements. The band formed during the recording of Eric "Big E" Gregory's solo record. Keith "Bear" Fowler came in to do some guitar work. “Leave the Light On: The Starlite DeVilles have a new album out titled Hotel. Although the record, produced by Dodd Ferrelle, totally features the band's signature American bar rock, it's not really what anyone would call "whiskey-soaked," and that's a good thing. It just keeps the music trucking along and manages to keep it between the ditches with ability. The band describes itself as "alt-country," so I guess they can be that. Still sounds just like rock and roll to me, though. Probably sounds like rock and roll to Billy Joel, too.
