Bio
Since he first picked up a guitar, Stanmore Phoenix has experimented with many genres. By fusing acoustic folk-rock with alternative influences he has created an edgy and unique style.
Drawing inspiration from some of the greatest musicians in recent times: David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Chris Martin & Ryan Adams, He has created a familiar yet compellingly unique sound which has often been compared to that of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Silverchair.
Set to simple & intricate melodies, his lyrics are honest, bittersweet and seek to find hope within despair, something we can all relate to.
His raw passion and love for his craft is evident whether he is playing an intimate set or entertaining the streets with his provocative and moving songs.

Did You Know?
- Stanmore achieved a long time goal of national radio play on triple J on 02/11/09 in collaboration with Adelaide rap outfit Headstrong Co. on which SP wrote and laid down the chorus vocal hook.
- The Fire EP (SP’s first official record) has just been completed. Having been recorded at Studios 301, this self funded record is a huge milestone and marks the start of a very promising relationship between SP and “boy genius” Producer/Engineer Simon Todkill. The next EP is already under works behind the scenes.
- Stanmore Phoenix performs regularly as a street musician around Sydney and is soon to embark on a national busking tour of Australia followed by a European tour in 2010.
