SPYDER MONKEY is an eclectic fusion of music with influences from fusion, rock, soul & jazz, As noted by Northeast Music Magazine about SPYDER MONKEY..." they are a good indie-rock band. Susie Lofton, lead singer, sounds like a cross of an early-80s, Blondie-esque rock vixen and a late-60s, Grace Slick-esque psychedelic chanter, with a touch of 90s alt-pop singer-songrwriter thrown in for crossover appeal. The rhythm sections churns out heavy, staccato rhythms, the lead guitar writhes and noodles with an appealingly unpretentious nod to classic rock, and the song structures are unconventional yet familiar-sounding."

*****SPYDER MONKEY's player line up consists of a very talented group of individuals. Drummer & Rhythmatist Mike Tooles provides speed, agility and un-deniably exciting melodically rhythmic performances. His talents have led him to work with Rocombu Jazz, Minor Diety & Jellyeye Dance Theater among other notable projects. Guitarrist Jared Dickey's bluesey soul infused rock licks add a wide range of color to the music. Lastly, the soulful pop slapping bass work is that of Jeff Blatherwick. Jeff has opened for jazz bass great Stanley Clarke as well as played with blues legend Otis Rush.
