Bio
Southern Yankee started as the songwriting team of Dave Gravino and Vernon Tart in 2000, we have 5 cd's of basement demo material and have started working on the 6th cd of material which we hope to do a professional recording of new songs by early next year.
We try to write songs that folks will want to hear over and over till they wear the songs out.

Southern Yankee is the outlet for music that Dave Gravino and Vernon Tart created to write songs and have a good time doing it. Nothing to serious and with a few off the wall irrelevant tracks its all about the songs. Fans of "classic rock", country rock, southern rock, country, pop and adult contemporary should find a home with Southern Yankee.
Having been described as a cross between Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan with a dash of Allman Brothers Band or Marshall Tucker Band we forge a head having no idea if it will work or not.
We take the high road and write and play for fun and take the low road to pay bills and eat.
