[Description] A night of live music from analogueundergroundradio 96.3Fm at The Ouch Bar on Preston Street Analogueundergroundradio presents an Audience with Southern Sunrise , Bag Of Hammers , Dead Whiskey accoustic set , Robbie Skitmore & the Spanish Harlem Incident .. Dead Whiskey "If you like foot stomping songs along the lines of Wine, Whisky & Women then Jake is a one stop shop.. The Dead Whisky's guitarists solo efforts are a lot more stripped back but still feel down and dirty.. Pour yourself a scotch, dim the lights and get ready to hear a mixture of Seasick Steve and Charles Bukowski" Southern Sunrise Founded in the spring of 2012, Southern Sunrise are a band who are bringing together the sounds of country, blues and mellow pop. Inspired by the likes of Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale, The Civil Wars and Fleet Foxes, they combine sultry vocals with melodic acoustic guitar to create “mellow, warm and gripping” songs (theatticdiary.com). The brains behind the project are Shonagh Macleod, a 21‐year‐old science student, born and raised in York (UK), on lead vocals, and Arjan Pieters, a 22‐year‐old songwriting student originally from Meers‐Elsloo (NL), on guitar. Their paths crossed in Brighton (UK), where they both study and started the band. The name ‘Southern Sunrise’ is symbolic of their love for the South Coast city and the conception of the band. They’re currently working on their debut EP ‘Brighton’, which will be released in June 2013. Press “A Dutch-English cooperation that leaves you wanting more.” - Kicking The Habit “This new single is especially great. Shonagh has the dreamiest voice and Brighton features it so well.” - Oh, Mishka “Not dealing in heartache or sadness, but the love of a truly beautiful place, this track (Brighton) will put a genuine smile on your face.” - Unambitiousus “A little bit of folk, a little bit of country and a little bit more of several other genres. In any case, it is very pleasant to listen to, and I therefore recommend anyone to give it a listen as well.” - Musicspotter “Shonagh’s vocals are beautifully suited to Arjan’s acoustic tones to create what seem like effortless harmonies.” - The Attic Diary Press links - http://indecentxposure.com/the-buzz/096ad448e2b7ee93b3c64378a4c305f9fcd5fcf5/ - http://www.unambitiousus.com/music-review/southern-sunrise-brighton-2013/
