“SOUTHERN EXPERIENCE ‘WHERE I’M FROM’ (INDEPENDENT/USA IMPORT) As the bandname already might predict, this North Carolina, USA based band is focusing on Southern Rock and they do it quite well on their album ‘Where I’m from’. The production is very impressive (with a little help of MARSHALL TUCKER BAND members Rusty Milner and Tim Lawter) and the performance is excellent, with a nice balance between the instrumental parts and the vocals. The lead vocals of guitarist/keyboardplayer SCOTT SANDERS are very strong and definitely contribute to the overall sound of SOUTHERN EXPERIENCE. Instrumental it all sound perfect, with great precise guitar work and a nice funky/groovy rhythm section backing it up. Highlights are the AOR influenced “Make me or break me”, “Could be better” (superb guitarwork!), “You and me” and “Rockin it out”... , so this is something to check out for sure. By far one of the better Southern Rock based albums of the past few years! ”
