THE SILVER TREE

The silver tree that hides its leaves in the absence of a passer by
Through winters eye it sees no more than me

The silver tree whose branches climb through clouds of silence in the sky
Through twisting light , its presence cast aside

If solitude can be a friend
The silver tree, it can depend upon such company to spend the passing time and days
And if one thing is clear to see
The silver tree can never leave
Its place is here, it stands, so free
It has no need, or dreams, beyond reality

The silver tree that cries no tears, as the days pass by and disappear
Through spring and summer blossoms like a smile

The silver tree who stands so tall watching wisely as we stand and fall
Without a word its silence can be heard

If time is still, without an end
The silver tree, you can depend, will stand aside, but mighty through the passing time and days
And if one thing is clear to see
The silver tree will never leave
Its place is here, outside the minds
Of all who have no need to know the silver tree

Its so hard to see
Every day is circled in the changes shown
Deep beneath the heart of what is known.
