extended bio:

Far from the concrete tower blocks of South London, their new inspiration is the airy Stony Hill district above Kingston and a compact studio they've established close to home...

For their whole lives, home has either been Jamaica or London, as children following the family, and now, for musical reasons. Sons of veteran Jamaican singer/songwriter Jack Radics, the brothers are very much a product of their musical background, ranging from the melodic reggae of their father to their roots in London's hip hop scene - which itself has strong roots in the sound of London's Jamaican community.

But it wasn't always music - after all, not everyone directly follows their father - with Matthew trying to make a career in acting, getting as far as appearing on BBC television while Jordan excelled at basketball, representing England at under-16 level.

Soon, later in their teens, music began to take over.

Jordan quickly became a precocious young MC and an integral member of hip hop groups Lotek HiFi (then signed to the groundbreaking Big Dada label) and respected live act Focused Few. Just as his MC'ing talent belied his age, Jordan quickly took to instruments and beat making. Naturally his thoughts soon turned to setting up his own studio.

Meanwhile Matthew had been back in Jamaica working with their father's Sound Faculty label, writing songs, singing back up vocals and recording his own solo release, 'In The Backyard'. Now with his brother breaking into the London scene and his father in Germany having signed to EMI. Reunited the brothers formed a new group, SK, with fellow MC Metropolis in 2003.

Scraping and saving the brothers had by 2005 bought enough equipment to build their own studio and began working with other artistes, establishing a strong underground following on south London pirate radio. That said, they decided once again, and why not, to pack up everything and relocate to Jamaica in 2006.

From their new base they've worked with a range of artists from the Governo Sombra organisation in Portugal to platinum selling singer Gentleman and behind the scenes at different levels of production, stage shows and even music videos with Ras Tingle and TD Films.

Right know it's the SK, SoundKillaz, and their new album 'JA Rydaz', which listening to you'll find a reflection of their background, hip hop tracks with a Jamaican accent... the first of several planned releases on their own label SK Productions

Jordan Bailey a.k.a. EARL J
Jay Radics a.k.a. Carnage a.k.a. Jay the Genius a.k.a. Skare Dem aka river Jordan was born in Hammersmith, London into a musical family . Jay grew up in Jamaica, and at the age of 11, moved to Southeast London to continue in his secondary education. Growing up Jay never focused on his musical talents, but was a large fan of basketball and went on to play for the under 16 England and London Leopards teams to name a few. As every other teenager, Jay used to listen to a variety of music but was mainly influenced by his father reggae superstar Jack Radics. In summer 2000, Jay linked up with Ebow Graham [metropolis from foreign beggars] who introduced him into underground Hip-Hop. When Jay began to listen to underground Hip-Hop, his mind opened up and he began to eat, sleep, and live with the underground sounds. Things rapidly changed when he discovered UK Hip-Hop, with artists such as Roots Manuva who he later went on to do work with and Rodney P. He realized at that point that he wanted to become an MC. Jay began to freestyle regularly and write raps daily. It was not long before he started working with independent Hip-Hop band the Focused Few and soon became a lead vocalist. During this time Jay began to write/produce a number of tracks from beats to lyrics, as well as many live performances. In early 2002, Jay met producer/rapper Lotek, who later formed Lotek Hi-Fi, a group which signed to ninja tunes Big Dada label to release both the self titled Lotek Hi Fi mini alum and Mixed blessings full length album amongst other releases which are available from big dada. More live shows in the UK and also in other foreign countries. By 2003 Jay had gathered enough equipment to say he had a studio and was working with musicians from Focused Few on a regular basis for joint projects, producing independent group the SK a group formed by getting together with his brother Matthew and friend Ebow, as well as future projects. Jay soon left both Lotek Hifi and focused few to concentrate on the group SK, by this time Ebow had left the group SK, soon after the release of the Take it off 12” record which was released and is available on Dented Records. Right now he has relocated to Jamaica and has set up studio once again after being involved with various projects from his own to the Governo Sombra organisation and even as far as working with platinum selling artists such as Gentleman behind the scenes at different levels of production and also at stage shows. Jay is still working with his brother in the SK making albums as well as doing work in the Jamaican music video industry with Ras Tingle and TD films, this is developing an interest into making not only music videos as they have already started shooting and directing their most recent videos, Lonely and Farmer Joe, but movies and documentaries in the future. He has previously worked with the BBC and at the Spectrecom studio in south east London. He looks forward to continue to in his effort to inform, educate and entertain.

Matthew Radics a.k.a MRX

Born in Southeast London, Matthew's family moved back to Jamaica where he lived until he was 13. His family then returned to London so that he and his brother Jordan could continue their education. Initially studying as an actor, Matthew has always had the desire to make music, possibly due to his musically influenced background. His father, Jamaican reggae superstar Jack Radics, has been making music for over two decades. While living in London, Matthew listened to a variety of music types, Indie and Rock, but mainly Hip-Hop and R&B. . Matthew was a member of the National Youth Theatre and attended the Brit School for Performing Arts where he studied Theatre. During that time he did a few acting roles, one of them for the BBC. After finishing college, Matthew decided he wanted to spend some time in Jamaica to get a change of environment as well as work on music with his father. After spending some time there, he decided to return to London to pursue further career opportunities. He linked up with younger brother Jordan, who had become a member of Lotek Hi-Fi and Focused Few to make music. Matthew and Jordan decided to begin their own project after working with Focused Few a few months, and SK was born. Matthew has been singing, rapping, writing and producing with SK, Focused Few, Jack Radics, Gentleman, Terry Linnen, Marcus I, Everton Chambers, Foreign Beggars, Governo Sombra, Mykal Rose, Barry O’Hare, Xterminator, Sy & Robbie and various other musicians within the Reggae and European Hip Hop scenes. He is also starting up the SK label and Sound Faculty Charity Organisation with younger brothers Jordan and Joshua, and has been working part time as an actor/asst. producer with Ras Tingle and TD Films. He hopes for a long, successful and creative career in the entertainment industry and for his music to be enjoyed by those who hear it.
