Sophocles Arvanitis (1980)

used to be a student  in the department of Music Technology & Acoustics, ATEI (highest technological, educational institute)of Crete, Rethymno where he focused on the studies of sound scape analysis and sound scape composition with Katerina Tzedaki, sound synthesis with Nikolas Valsamakis and electroacoustic composition using electronic computers with Panayotis Kokoras. In 2007 he moved in the institute of sonology, where he attended the one year sonology course with teachers Paul Berg, Kees Tazelaar , Raviv Ganchrow, Johan van Kreij, Joel Ryan and Peter Pabon.     He is a member of HELMCA (Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association, http://www.essim.gr/).   He has attended seminars with the composer Jonty Harrison on three dimensional reproduction and diffusion of sound, with Carla Scaletti and Kurt Hebel on Kyma. He has attended the Iannis Xenakis international symposium in Athens in 2005. His music has selected on 31st, 33rd and 34th international competition of electro acoustic music and sonic art, Bourges, France. His music has been broadcasted by the EBU. Sophocles Arvanitis, is currently completing his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, at the institute of sonology.
