Songs from the Blue House started out trying to record some sort of bluegrass thing for their first album before giving up the unequal struggle and blending trucking songs with English folk. The second album 'Too' wandered off into a strange land where The Waterboys met Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris and came to some sort of agreement, and 2008's 'Tree' was a big production number referencing everyone from Nick Drake to The Eagles. The fourth album 'IV' is a great beast of a thing and featuring as it does a blend of gentle folkiness, power-pop and massively pompous expressions of political disgust will probably be the one they're finally happy with. Probably. Ticket price includes a voluntary £1 donation to High Barn Arts C.I.C. For more information on this, please call 01371 811 291.
