The Jones Dickens, Cato, Something Organic and Omaur Bliss hit the Fine Line Music Cafe on Thursday, September 13th The Jones Dickens is back performing at what was the home turf of their former band Leroy Smokes. Throughout the years they have packed the floor at the Fine Line and shared the stage with the likes of Kanser, I Self Divine, The Hopefuls, The New Congress, and so many more. They had two CD Release concerts and played numerous tribute shows covering the music of Bob Marley, the Doors and others. It is fitting that The fledgling bands first big show will be at this iconic downtown Club. They will be joined by Saint Paul based hip-hop band Something Organic, as well as rapper Omaur Bliss and joined by well traveled pop/hip-hop artist Cato, who will open the night with a bang. Barry Rohrer (aka Brainchild) and Frederick N. Gotfredson Herrera (aka Fredy Herrera) are best known as prominent members of Twin Cities hip-hop band Leroy Smokes, where they won a Los Angeles Music Award for Best Rap Album and appeared on a band-themed reality show on FUSE-TV. Drawing comparisons to The Gym Class Heroes, The Black Keys, and The Roots, the new group creates a big sound with drums, keyboard bass and keyboards and stays true to what brought them success in the first place- feel-good music, danceable rhythms, outstanding musicianship and a high energy stageshow. Cato www.facebook.com/catomusic Cato is a seasoned stage performer with over 100 live POP & Hip-Hop shows to his name to date, spanning the country from Illinois, Tampa & Clearwater Florida to Seattle Washington and most recently the Twin Cities. He has morphed and evolved his style from hip-hop spitter to a fully-fledged musical entertainer. Cato combines his ability to create complex in-line rhyme schemes and destroying hooks with his Chamillionaire style melodic tones all while keeping it fun, energetic, original and simplistic...for hit POP records. His genre and most recent project release HiPOP, which is a fusion of Pop, Hip-Hop, and Electro music show Cato’s versatility, lyrical prowess and originality. Something Organic https://www.facebook.com/SomethingOrganic Formed in 2010, Something Organic is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. They are comprised of lead emcee, Most Official, vocalist, Aimee Del Pino, Keyboardist, Undrea "Big Dre' Woods, Bass player, Teju "TJ" Olaniyi and guitar player, Josh Florez. Being that they are all from very different backgrounds their sound is influenced by several different genres of music, but they all understand that today's hip-hop fans need a jolt of originality and something musically revolutionary, and they are more than willing to fill the void. Omaur Bliss reverbnation.com/omaurbliss Omaur Bliss released his self-titled debut in 2005 and has been a prominent artist in the upper Midwest music scene ever since. At the time, Minneapolis Music Journalist Chris Riemschneider described Bliss as the male version of Lauryn Hill due to his soulful singing and rapping talents. Like the different internet applications, Omaur Bliss's music has undergone an evolution. If you had to measure Bliss's evolution as an artist, you can start by comparing internet applications from the first application to what will become 3.0. Intense interaction is what true Bliss fans have grown to expect that from the pure Renaissance man.
