“a band influenced by thrash but not stuck in one genre definition, we’ll take a look at a Detroit’s Soldiers of Scrape, which was formerly known as Bowlscraper. The band uses thrashy guitars, but also has a big groove metal sound that brings to mind bands like Pantera, along with a little hardcore for good measure. The band’s latest album “New Age Of Piracy” is set for release this year...”
“Soldiers Of Scrape or SoS are one of Michigan's rising stars. Their music is hard hitting Thrash with a degree of groove that gives them a modern sound. They are also known for having a good time with their music such as heard on the track 'Cold Beer' which is easily one of the best Metal drinking songs ever and is a must hear. The guitars throughout are very crunchy and hard riffs with an occasional solo or breakdown. The vocals are where SoS triumph's over other groups as vocalist Mick uses a raspy but audible growl and tosses a few higher pitch growls. The lyrics are ridiculously catchy, I find myself shouting along with Mick on nearly half the tracks every time I got this CD blaring in my car”
"Soldiers Of Scrape have one hell of a good thing going. You won't hear a single negative thing come from me about this band. It almost feels like I am addicted to this album. Once I start playing it, I can't turn it off until it's done. 11 tracks of some old-school ass kickin' metal!"
"Tough as nails, these Detroit natives wave the heavy metal flag with conviction. Beyond talented, full of charisma and ready to rearrange your face, They rip the tarmac off the runway. Pledging allegiance to"Women,Weed, and Booze" pity the poor town that gets pillaged by these cowboys from hell. Boldly picking up where reinventing the steel left off, S.O.S address real issues with real extremity. Listen once and you're hooked for life..."
"Soldiers Of Scrape are holding the flag of metal high and proudly, and showing that the true flame of metal is alive and now has become a flamethrower to waste the naysayers in their way... Heavy as a avalanche, complex as any band out there and completely unyielding to the twentieth power... SOS are the true holders of the metal crown. Taking the lessons from such metal legends as Black Sabbath, Overkill and the mighty Slayer... they make music that soothes the angst of any metallic souls, while scaring the living hell out of everyone else who does not have such a soul."
"Scrape the Nation...Their first offering since changing their name to Soldiers Of Scrape is a four-song EP that delivers a jaw-breaking punch to the face. This is made possible by the lineup change, which transformed them from a quartet to a quintet, while adding a new drummer and two new guitarists, all who have experience in death metal bands. Scrape the Nation drips with their trademark toxic stoner sludge, but is infused with blast beats and more technical guitar solos courtesy of the new members."
