Recently the Qilombo and the People of Afrika Town won a small victory in the fight against gentrification in keeping the Afrika Town Community Garden. It is imperative that while we are battling the ruthless clutches of kkkapitalism that we expand on the idea of Black Urban Farming and build networks of people dedicated to building an alternative infrastructure for our survival. Farming is a critical part of Black Resistance to kkkapitalism and white supremacy because without an ability feed ourselves we are essentially still dependent on the kkkapitalist infrastructure to survive. With this event we hope to raise awareness not only around Afrika Town Community Garden but around the issues of Food Sovereignty and Environmental Justice in the Afrikan Community. This is a small event to help build a bigger goal of Decolonization and how it relates to the issues of Farming and Freeing The Land!!! We will have Black Urban Farmers in the Bay Area discussing the importance and some history around the Black Farmers struggle and why it is important for us to be able to feed ourselves. Come celebrate spring, support black self determination, plan for a sustainable future, and support and enjoy the arts..Support Afrika Town Community Garden and black power Music Gardening Food Community Radical intergalactic intercommunalness WE WILL HAVE A DISCUSSION/STRATEGY SESSION AT 4PM AROUND BLACK FOOD SECURITY IN THE SPIRIT OF BLACK AND BROWN SOLIDARITY WE ALSO ENCOURAGE FOLKS TO COME TO THE "ZAPATISTA STUDY SESSIONS" FROM 6-730PM RIGHT BEFORE THE PRESENTATION STARTS AND EVERY MONDAY.
