ELECTRIC HEALING SOUND are a minimalist garage rock band from San Diego, CA and based in Tijuana, B.C, MX. Fronted by Ricky Soltero and including Aldair Cerezo (lead guitar), Miguel Ahuage (percussion) and Eric Curiel (bass), the band was formed in late 2010 and debuted on August 26 of the same year. Influenced heavily by 60's garage rock bands as well as late 80's indie rock noise makers. The Electric Healing Sound have developed a collection of songs that showcase their bi-polar musical personality. Their repertoire range from one chord songs squealing with feedback to sweet full-on pop songs and everything in between. As a live act, the band have built a reputation for noisy energetic live performances garnering them some interest and attention on both the San Diego/Tijuana music scenes. The band finished recording their debut album titled "Tangled Up" at Electric Orange Studios with music engineer/musician Andrew Montoya [the sess, beaters, ale mania]. Tangled Up was released July 7, 2012. EHS embarked on their first tour with fellow Cholo Punks label mates Shiva Trash covering a handful of west coast cities. The tour found the band playing Los Angeles, Berkeley, San Francisco, Sonoma, Portland and Seattle. The band is about to release their self-titled ep for the San Diego indie label Cholo Punks this summer. SHAKED BEFORE US: San Diego California, June 19th 2010. The day the earth shook still... The day 4 friends, Will, Cuz, Jesse and Fonda found they shared a common love for vintage organs, hollow body guitars, Theremins, cool ties and a red sparkle drum kit. Over a couple of drinks, a pack of smokes and a few hand shakes …Shake Before Us is formed. Their “Get buzzed and turn up the fuzz” attitude has yielded true tales of lost faith, booze, drugs, sin and self doubt. A maniacal mix of organ, guitar, dual howling vocals, deep drums and even deeper bass. They pair the past with the future for a unique sound that is vintage yet modern at the same time. Shake Before Us recently completed their debut record with John “Swami” Reis producing and local engineering master Ben Moore on the controls. Recorded live directly to a vintage 8-track reel-to-reel, the album is a perfect snap shot of the band at their best…LIVE. Bass player Cuz: “You need to have a good song to start with, a riff that just takes off and a vocal melody that can keep up with it. We try to take the listener into a different head space. If we feel a song doesn't have those qualities…we drop it.” Their live show has been described as ”a dark gospel rock revival where salvation is firmly delivered through a relentless wall of sound. Uplifting, but strangely unnerving at the samde time.” In their first 6 months of playing live, they have shared the stage with Supersuckers, The Blasters, King Khan, Holly Golightly, Kid Congo, and The Jacuzzi Boys. With all 4 members contributing to the songwriting process, they have crafted their unique style of '60s Sci-Fi Garage Rock that pulls elements from The Animals, The Strokes, The Raconteurs and The Doors. Shake Before Us is a rock and roll band in its purist most primitive form with the devil breathing down their necks… and they wouldn't have it any other way.
