Smoke Rings was formed by Ryan Gabel, lead singer and guitar player, and Dave Moore, bass player, in the early months of 2008. This came after an unexpected dissolve of their previous band, Death Valley Days. They were soon joined by their Roland TR505 drum machine and Nikolai Belden, who provides synth waves/otherworldly ambience and some vocals. Even later still, they were joined by Nathan Bickley, who provides secondary guitar, percussion, and anything else that is strange that he comes up with. Currently, Smoke Rings is in gear to record another few songs and is in the early phases of integrating a live drummer.
