A keen musician from a young age the half Scottish half English producer, skimatix aka James Kerr Lawrie has been playing guitar since the tender age of 7 and writing music since the age of 10. His first tunes were a fusion of acid jazz, hip hop and drum and bass and experimental. it wasnt untill autumn of 2006 with the emerging dubstep scene that james started to find his voice. j James in his final year of university directly engaged cardiff's burgeoning student population and launched MUD cardiff's first regular dubstep night.
