September Singer Songwriter Showcase The first Singer Songwriter Showcase, formerly known as "The 6" happened on September 16th in 2011, so this September we are moving the show down to the big stage for a 3 year celebration. We've also changed up the look of the show thanks to Planet Ten! This month features: Aaron Nathans & Michael Ronstadt, Frank Viele, Hadar, Jerzy Jung, Joe Trainor, and The Rogue Whiskers (Jeremy Hebbel & Christine Holmes) Aaron Nathans & Michael Ronstadt Aaron Nathans & Michael Ronstadt create musical combustion, combining Aaron's wild-mind, bittersweet songwriting and beautiful guitar playing with Michael's creative musical storytelling and his signature, virtuosic cello work. Michael plays more than 200 nights a year with various projects, including Ronstadt Generations, a Southwestern acoustic trio with other members of his famous family. Aaron is a 2011 Kerrville New Folk finalist who has opened for Lucy Kaplansky, Tracy Grammer, Vance Gilbert and the Kennedys. Frank Viele Frank Viele constructs his sound beneath an acoustic funk ceiling with windows of alternative pop, folk and soul. A musical carpenter in the independent rock genre, this singer/songwriters approach mixes a dry wit with a soulful touch. A storytelling angle finishes out the floors of this building. Frank's sound construction is cemented together by a solid blues foundation and his stylistically aware approach is evident in his singing and guitar playing. Rogue Whiskers The Rogue Whiskers is the newly formed duo of Jeremy Hebbel and Christine Holmes. This show will be the first time Jeremy has performed his original songs in public. Hadar Hadar (Hadar McNeill) is an R&B, Soul and Pop singer and song-writer. She was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel and first revealed her natural talent as a soloist in the Ankor Choir of the Jerusalem Rubin Conservatory of Music and Dance. Within the choir, Hadar was able to demonstrate her vocal abilities with classical music as well as explore her personal influences of American R&B, Soul and Pop. She has graced many stages in Spain, Italy, Russia, Portugal, Japan, and Turkey with the Ankor Choir and as a soloist. With the inspiration of Stevie Wonder, Etta James, and Alicia Keys, Hadar is determined to follow her dream of singing R&B and Soul music. Jerzy Jung Jerzy Jung is a singer/songwriter/pianist who grew up in Southern NJ. She is known for her passionate live performance, and for exploring themes of body image, addiction, love, and fear in her lyrics. In 2011 she was a semi-finalist in the Pop Song category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and her songs have been heard on MTV's True Life, Gone Too Far, and Teen Mom 2. Joe Trainor Joe Trainor has been a mainstay on the Delaware music scene for many, many...many years, but most recently fronting the original rock-piano band The Joe Trainor Trio. When not doing that, he works with City Theater Company, teaches piano, walks dogs, eats at Lucky's, watches Doctor Who with Kerry and plays PS3.
