About

The Silvertone Devils is a 5 piece roots-rock/americana band based in Paonia, Colorado. The group revolves around the talents of husband and wife team Bill Powers and Shelley Gray (Sweet Sunny South, Honey Don’t) and features some great area musicians.

Randy Utterback plays the telecaster guitar the way it’s meant to be played, with impeccable tone, masterful licks and the ability to be sweet and gritty all at once. Randy has been playing with a variety of groups in the North Fork and Roaring Fork valleys for the past 20 years and the Devils are thrilled to have him.

Mark Anderson on drums, is a fairly recent transplant to the area. He has a keen ear brings a great touch and feel to the music.

Greg Cooperman plays keyboards, harmonica and accordion. Greg is the newest addition to the line up and he is also an amazing player no matter what he has his hands on. The added textures of the keys lets the bands sound really expand.

Shelley Gray holds down the bass and adds the sweetest of harmonies to the mix.

Many of the Devil’s songs are original tunes penned by Powers, a prolific writer and understated singer (think JJ Cale).  But choice covers fit nicely along side the originals. The music covers country influences, swing, folk and good ol’ rock-n-roll.

Listeners can sit back and enjoy the songs and the chops or they can jump up and go wild dancing. The STD's bring something for everybody (except penicillin—ask your doc). If you like Gram Parsons, The Band, The Dead, Eric Clapton (Slow Hand and Backless era) The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Ronnie Lane, The Stones, New Riders or any rock and roll with a foot in country--you will love this band.
