Growing up with a piano teacher as mother, and four elder siblings playing all kind of instruments, Morten Storgaard has always been surrounded by music. His brother taught him to play trumpet at the age of six, and at 15 he picked up the guitar. He is self-taught on the guitar, and during the Silent Highway project, he has developed his personal way of tuning the guitar strings. It contributes to an utterly unique sound, and chords you rarely hear from guitar-based Singer/Songwriters.

Silent Highway touch on subjects like family tragedies, faith, doubt and existential questions and often wrap them in parable-like stories, which leaves the listener with angles for reflection.

After 25 concerts at cafes, clubs and smaller festivals (with this project), he now seems to have found his own musical stand in the acoustic/indie genre, and his debut album "hope from the borderland" is out by december 2007!.

Before Silent Highway Morten Storgaard has been a part of the Danish indie/noise-rock act Lampshade for two years as a live-trumpeter and guitarist. He has also formed the Hardcore band Barricades, which he's still a part of.
