About
Sigh were formed in April of 1990 and recorded two demos before releasing the 'Requiem For Fools' 7"EP on Wild Rags, which led to a deal with Euronymous' Deathlike Silence Productions.
The debut Sigh full-length, Scorn Defeat, was recorded in 1993. Euronymous was murdered before its release, so Voices Of Wonder Records took over DSP and released the album.
Sigh then moved to Cacophonous Records and released the following:
Infidel Art (1995)
Ghastly Funeral Theatre (1996 mini album)
Hail Horror Hail (1997)
Scenario IV: Dread Dreams (1999)
'Hail Horror Hail' was chosen as one of the 100 most important heavy metal albums of the nineties in Terrorizer magazine.
The band then signed to Century Media Records and released Imaginary Sonicscape in 2001. The album was again well-received worldwide.
The sixth album, Gallows Gallery, featured the addition of drummer Junichi Harashima. The album was released in 2005 by Baphomet/Season Of Mist Records (US) and Candlelight Records (Europe). It was chosen as No.14 album of 2005 in Terrorizer magazine. (The album was later re-mastered by James Murphy and re-released through The End Records in 2007.)
The seventh album, Hangman’s Hymn, was released in 2007 on The End Records (US) and Osmose Productions (Europe). H.H. is the fastest and most symphonic album by the band, and at charted #11 on CMJ’s Loud Rock Chart as soon as it was out.
A Tribute to Venom is ready for release in September 2008, and will mark the studio debut of new members Dr. Mikannibal (saxophone, vocals).
Sigh will begin recording their eighth album, Scene from Hell / Tempore Belli / Vanitas, in late 2008, for release through The End Records in 2009. The album will feature massive orchestration, including a real string quartet and brass players.
