Talent, talent, talent – that’s what’s on the menu for tonight. Add a tapas plate and a bottle of wine and you’ve got yourself a fine, fine time. Dig!
Jamie MacDowell (folk/pop/rock)
The fluid, rhythmic songwriting of Jamie MacDowell is built from muted, jazzy backing on his trusty Taylor nylon-string guitar, and a vocal style that approximates intimate beat poetry. The closest comparison is probably The Police at their most hushed and forlorn, but MacDowell’s muse is uniquely his own. He plays reassuring, chatty songs that are a fine companion to any Saturday night – especially when he’s backed by some cheeky special guests.
Davy Simony (folk/roots/indie)
Davy Simony is an alternative folk/roots singer-songwriter hailing from Kuranda in Far North Queensland, but now based in Melbourne. With influences that span from Jack Johnson to Angus & Julia Stone and The Beautiful Girls, Davy’s music is defined by his grounded and heartfelt style of songwriting. He blew us away when he made his Chandelier Room debut in January, and tonight he’s back, playing songs off his beautiful EP Discover.
Morgan Joanel (roots/rock/pop)
There are plenty of solo musos doing the looping pedal thing these days, but few pull it off with as much verve as Morgan Joanel. This talented songstress is touring in support of her newly released EP and is a sparkling live performer, so come early!
