Stacy: Have you heard SOMEDAY LOUNGE is being sold?
Jenine: You mean that gorgeous venue on NW 5th that has hosted some of my favorite touring and local Portland acts throughout the last decade?
Stacy: Yep. Gone forever. Probably to be turned into a vomit factory or something.
Jenine: That's a shame, Someday is one of the coolest venues in Portland. Hopefully they'll go out with a BANG.
Stacy: They will Jenine. On MARCH 9TH, they are having one last big show to celebrate everything Someday Lounge has given to the live music scene, and they have brought in bands from all over the West Coast!
Starting the night off is:
A Seattle based, seven-piece, hip hop outfit combining MCs with a live band, that has been enriching the Northwest for four years with their unique blend of hip hop, soul, electronica, funk, and masterful lyrics.
(Don't tell anyone, but they will be playing at Sasquatch this May)
JUST PEOPLE: www.JustPeopleMusic.com
Local soul-rock heroes, Just People are fresh off their February album release of "Light/Weight". The Portland Pick claims: “Each track on Light/Weight is a journey to where the human condition has gone and will continue to explore. It’s an imposing release that should carry them into much success. “
Closing it all down:
DIEGO"S UMBRELLA: www.diegosumbrella.com/
Celebrated as San Francisco's ambassadors of Gypsy Rock, Diego's Umbrella's live shows are "passionate and uninhibited, with songs often as catchy as they are irreverent. Their lyrics weave stories of fantasy, erotica and mystery, with enough absurd humor to remove even the faintest hint of seriousness." -Enjoy Magazine
Stacy: This event is going to be absurd, and it's produced by Proper Villain Productions, so you know it will have that special magic.
