News From The Front, Bad Daddies, Castoff & Strike Twelve
DOORS: 9 PM / SHOW: 10 PM
NEWS FROM THE FRONT is about everyday life being broadcasted through music. Struggles, triumphs, hardships, good times, social frustration, social celebration, personal stories, and stories shared. They have fun doing what they love, and they love making music.
BAD DADDIES, from Stockton, CA, play loud, fast, feedback-y punk rock. Two separate Maximum Rock’n'Roll reviewers have put Bad Daddies’ debut EP (s/t) on their “Top Ten Records of 2011″ lists. Bad Daddies have also made Weekly Top Ten lists on KALX (Berkeley) and KDVS (Davis), and have been interviewed on KUSF in Exile. Bad Daddies are interviewed in Maximum Rock’n'Roll #353. Check out the details HERE, and go pick up a copy! Bad Daddies released a killer split 7-inch with the awesome band White Fang in early 2012 (available on the Merch page). Bad Daddies are also appearing on the upcoming Sacramento-area punk compilation, Bat Shit Crazy, released by Bat Guano Productions.
CASTOFF was initially a writing/recording project created by Bill H in the spring of 2012 as a way to vent frustration concerning the lack of reason, logic, and equity in American politics and society. Pete C. soon decided to join the effort and the two recorded the original 8 songs. Adam P and Brian W joined shortly after the recording was completed. Castoff is a call to end the true institutional class warfare where the working poor and middle class support the rich. Castoff is really just songs about the rest of us. The people that have been discarded, written off, overlooked, or ignored. Nothing more, nothing less.
STRIKE TWELVE is every bar owner/patron’s dream – a beer-drinking, song-playing, hilarious, energetic party on stage. It’s hard to say exactly what to expect from a show, but having Strike Twelve in the lineup means you’re in for a fun night. The band first started jamming together in 2000 when its three founding members – Matty T (guitar/vocals), Joey T (bass/vocals), and Danny B (drums) – were all sophomores in high school. They met through a common love of fast, energetic music and a desire to beat the shit out of their instruments together. “We play music because it gets our adrenaline going and allows us to share our excitement and good times with those around us,” says Joey. Now, over 10 years and 150 shows later, they’ve beefed things up with the addition of Joey’s younger brother Andy on second guitar. They’ve shared the stage with many of the acts that inspired them, including Strung Out, Propagandhi, Unwritten Law, Reel Big Fish, Guttermouth, Authority Zero, The Ataris, Death By Stereo and Voodoo Glow Skulls. They signed to Felony Records in 2010 and have released two full-length albums, “Killing California” and 2012′s “Moonshine” which are both available on iTunes, Bandcamp, and at any of their shows.
