Hatful of Rain
At Grayshott Social Club GU26 6HL
Brighton audiences have been familiar with Hatful of Rain’s music for some time but now their brand of British Folk with an Appalachian influence has suddenly started to attract much wider attention. They are a hard-working band, who are gigging all over the South-East of England and London and they have become firm favourites of BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris. In March this year, he broadcast a session they recorded for him and now everybody wants a piece of the action! Last week they had Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) and John Sessions in their audience!
Fortunately we were ahead of the game on this one and I’m sure you will really enjoy a little bit of Country style Folk music in the intimate surroundings of Grayshott Social Club.
Hatful of Rain’s first full length album “Way Up On The Hill” is an absolute cracker and features Fiddle, Piano, Double Bass, Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin and some wonderful vocals and harmony singing.
Support: Ben Maggs (www.benmaggs.co.uk)
We are doubly delighted because tonight we welcome Ben Maggs back to Grayshott. Ben won over lots of new admirers when he played a support slot for us back in March 2012 when our headliners were The Willows.
His return is long overdue and for those who didn’t see him before, this will be a special treat.
Just added! Hilary Scott will also be doing a few songs for us.
All Tickets are £10
