The Tango Rhums
Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 8:00pm
Tango Rhums do the Fringe at Checkpoint Charlie. One night only. Rhums on stage around 10.00PM, followed by an acoustic set by Laura Kidd from She Makes War. Unmissable evening's entertainment for no money and we've been assured the drinks are "reasonably priced"
Checkpoint Charlie boasts two performance floors with bars and a futon-bedecked balcony, complete with sunken bar and hostess service. With a highly creative team behind the scenes, this 500 capacity venue will be hosting an eclectic mix of live music, comedy, literary spoken word, cutting edge DJs and film and animation throughout the festival, from 8pm - 5am. Visitors have already likened it to ‘The Limelight in Manhattan, like nothing Edinburgh has seen in years’. Think David Lynch's Club Silencio in Mullholland Drive - everything is real but nothing is quite as it seems. With a host of quality, established and yet to be discovered acts already lined up over the month of August, Checkpoint Charlie is the cool place to hang out, immerse yourself in mainstream and avant-garde culture, or generally just shoot the breeze with like-minded individuals in a wonderfully, happening environment.
