When the Kauai Concert Association received the W. S. ‘Pete’ Robinson Memorial Jazz Fund in 2003, the dream of establishing an annual Jazz Festival on Kauai took flight. The Fund is used to help bring jazz artists to Kauai’s stages for concerts and into classrooms to share their talent and knowledge enabling students of all ages to experience and learn about this important and exciting original American music. Since 2008 this music has been the focus of an annual celebratory event on Kauai known as The Red Clay Jazz Festival. In 2012 we are again expanding the festival to include Blues as well as Jazz!!
This year's Festival will include Miss E.C. Scott, Venissa Santi Sextet - Afro Cuban Holiday, Vanessa Collier and the Berklee Student All-Stars, and from Kaua`i The Kirk Smart Quartet. Click on “Artists” to learn more about these players, their music and recordings. To discover how the Red Clay Jazz Festival got its name, click on "History".
