Pam Saulsby, who for many years was a news anchor for WRAL-TV, has now turned much of her attention to singing jazz. Her repertoire includes songs performed by Ella Fitzgerald and Ms. Saulsby will sing some of them in this special concert such as Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Satin Doll with the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra. She will also be the narrator of this concert which pays tribute to the great big band music that was performed and recorded by top American Black Bands of the Swing Era. Tunes by Duke Ellington and Count Basie plus by lesser known leaders such as Benny Carter, Fletcher Henderson, and Jimmy Lunceford will be performed.
