Poor Boy Clothing Presents
This April, Poor Boy Clothing returns with our Sunday night events at Rancho Relaxo! The first of which is a benefit concert; all proceeds from this event will go towards the orphanage, Les Enfant Demunis in Haiti. Fareham D. from Rodrigo Wilde is the musical ambassador to the orphanage Les Enfant Demunis in La Plaines, Port au Prince, Haiti. He is raising money for his trip back to Haiti to put in a water drainage system, a solar energy system, a lighting system, and a new school for the orphanage. His goal is to raise $8500 by May 1st. We will also be accepting donations of NEW women's underwear for the "We Care With Underwear" Campaign, For the femininity and dignity of women and girls in crisis" To get involved contact: email@example.com Bands: Rodrigo Wilde (Toronto, ON) http://www.reverbnation.com/rodrigowilde Jaffa Charles (Port au Prince, Haiti) http://www.myspace.com/jaffabiz1 The Effens http://www.myspace.com/theeffens Dinosaur, Dinosaur http://www.myspace.com/ Doors @ 9pm $8 Cover (all proceeds will go towards the orphanage, Les Enfant Demunis in Haiti) $4 Beer Poor Boy Clothing will be donating half of all t- shirt sales to the orphanage. **A NOTE FROM Fareham. D*** Now that I have been to the orphanage and seen first hand what is in need and what could be done to improve the lives of these children, I have come up with a few things that I feel is the next step to rebuilding the orphanage and setting these kids up with a better future. 1. A drainage system needs to be built for the grounds. This will cost approximately $1500. 2. A proper school for the children needs to be built with all the necessary supplies for the teachers and the students which will cost $4000 for the building. 3. A solar energy system with converter. This will supply the orphanage with clean free renewable energy that will accommodate a lighting system and basic energy needs. 95% of Haiti is still without constant power. This will cost $1000 4. $2000 is needed to set the orphanage up with a chicken coup which will provide fresh eggs for them daily, a few goats to provide milk for cheese etc., and build a vegetable garden that will provide for the orphanage and the village. This will also include proper cooking supplies for the orphanage. I will be heading back to Haiti in May of 2011 to deliver and set up everything personally. 100% of all money raised goes directly to Haitian hands. We will be hiring local people to help with the construction and will be paying them a fair share wage of $8US an hour (not the $2US per DAY that working people earn). Also, all of the material (that is available in Haiti) will be bought locally. If you would like to help in any way, throwing an event to raise money, donating, or if you would like to come and visit the orphanage for yourself, please send me a message. Thank you!
