The City of Gaithersburg presents the 22nd Annual Oktoberfest at the Kentlands, Sunday, October 13, 2013, from noon to 5 p.m. This year the festival will expand beyond its traditional location on the Kentlands Green and grounds of Kentlands Mansion to now include activities along Main Street and Market Square. Admission and parking are free. Free and wheelchair accessible shuttle service will run regularly during festival hours to and from satellite parking at 101 and 200 Orchard Ridge Drive, just off of Quince Orchard Road.
Featuring the traditional horse-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin painting, Beer Garden, Wine Terrace, Bavarian food, and lively performances by the Alte Kameraden German Band and Alt-Washingtonia Bavarian dancers. The new layout will accommodate additional main stages to feature a variety of musical entertainment, a Business Expo area, and more family activities. The festival areas will be connected by trolley rides and marked walking paths.
