Dustin Smith & The Sunday Silos is an Americana and folk rock band from Des Moines, Iowa.
Dustin moved to New York City in his late teenage years to devote his life to songwriting. There, he released his first album, Summer Afternoon, in 2008 and extensively toured the Northeast. But after the loss of his father, Dustin decided to return to his roots in Des Moines, Iowa — where he crafted 2009's Burgess.
During the creation of Burgess, Dustin assembled a rock-solid backing band that he dubbed "The Sunday Silos." Dustin and his band returned to the studio to record their first full-length album officially as Dustin Smith & The Sunday Silos, and the album Northerner was born in December 2012 to roundly positive reviews. Northerner was built by Dustin and the group from the ground up with precise craftsmanship, honesty, love, and a desire to reflect the environment that surrounded them. The band is currently touring to promote the album.
