Sunday September 15th at 7pm, the Congregational Church of Patchogue, 95 East Main Street, will present The Spirituality of Bruce Springsteen. This is NOT a religious event. It explores the relationship between music, musicians, and the spirituality that is woven into the fabric of their lives and work. This series acknowledges, for one of many things, that people nowadays seem to get their spirituality more from music than from houses of faith or academies of learning. This is also a call for musicians to take their role as poet-priest-prophet-punk more seriously; even if they do not like to see themselves in such a role. Their audiences, consciously or not, do. $10 suggested admission goes to feed the hungry.
No preaching. This spiritual but not religious exploration into the spirituality of Bruce Springsteen that is evident in his music was written by Rev. Dwight Lee Wolter and is the latest in this very popular series on the Spirituality of Music. The music will be performed by some of Long Island's best musicians. Performers include Joe Rock, Mike Breier, Robert Bruey, Bryan Gallo, Chris James, Pete Mancini, Annie Mark, Steven Prisco, Thomas Ryan, Jessica Upham and more to be announced !!!
