Gabrielle Collection Juxtaposition
Gabrielle Collection Cask 321
From Angus on the Gabrielle Collection: I was fortunate and privileged to meet with Gabrielle several months ago and taste some of the wines produced not only by her but also her husband. The Pietro line of varietals is produced by her husband. The Gabrielle Collection consists of Vertex, Juxtaposition, Equilateral and Cask 321, made under the watchful eye of Gabrielle herself.
A culinary instructor at the CIA in Napa, Gabrielle also has original graftings of Mission Hill olives and figs which she speaks of with great enthusiasm... and rightly so.
I tasted all of the wines that will be presented at this auspicious event:
Pietro Sauvignon Blanc - Herbacious and rich without all of the "grapefruit and Lychee" associated with most Sauv/Blanc
Pietro Chardonnay - Deep, Bright and luxurious.
Juxtaposition (Cabernet Sauvignon) - a literal spectrum of all that is Cabernet Sauvignon
Vertex (Cabernet Sauvignon Blend) - Cabernet with some added Syrah and spice
Cask 321 Cabernet Sauvignon (which is only available at wine dinners with Gabrielle herself) - unlike anything you have ever experienced
The level of craftsmanship and sophistication of these wines, not to mention the wealth of experience and erudite charm of Gabrielle herself, almost demanded that we put a dinner of distinction together for the benefit of all involved!
My intent is to craft a special dinner menu, including offerings created just for the occasion, that will meet and compliment these superior wines most adroitly. While no small task, to be sure, I am confident that this will be a sublime pairing of wine to food and information to entertainment for the delight and satisfaction of all that are fortunate to attend this one of a kind event. Chef Angus
ABOUT THE GABRIELLE COLLECTION: Gabrielle Collection is a series of boutique, luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons and Proprietary Cabernet blends, that are invitingly and food complementary wines. They show the artistry of Winemaker Gabrielle in their balance, suppleness and distinction as she brings the magic of the soil and sun into a glass of wine.
Gabrielle believes blending varietals and vineyards achieves the most expressive wine. Drawing from the organically farmed estate vineyard in the Oak Knoll Appellation as well as other from select sustainably farmed vineyards, where the climate and soil are best suited to produce each varietal perfectly, she creates wines with richness and complexity.
