The Forest & Jackson Rodgers Bluegrass Unit will be playing an hour of eclectic bluegrass music for your listening pleasure, featuring the legendary Forest Rodgers and Brian Goodpaster of the Villages’ own Redneck Country Club Band, as well as premier singer-songwriter (and son of Forest) Jackson Rodgers and Jim Troxell of the Orange Blossom Opry. The show will feature songs ranging from the Dillards to the Eagles, from Ricky Skaggs to Steely Dan. Forest (formerly of the Vassar Clements band) will dazzle the ears with banjo, mandolin, and hot-picking guitar. Brian Goodpaster, having played with such bluegrass luminaries as Peter Rowan and Tony Rice, will delight on fiddle and various other instruments. Up-and-comer Jackson Rodgers, whom Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Chris Hillman of the Byrds and the Desert Rose Band says is “right on track, very good!”, will be featured on vocals and rhythm guitar. Rounding things out, Jim Troxell will be rock solid on the bull fiddle (i.e., upright bass). As the saying goes, Ya’ll come!
