Pussy Whipped Edinburgh- queer/feminist/punk/pop band party!
Edinburgh's Pussy Whipped presents a diverse night of ass-kicking queer-feminist musical wonder! We create a safe and fun, punk rock community-driven environment where it's not weird or novelty for women and out and proud (often pissed off) queers to be onstage. We prove at every show that contrary to the general public's assumptions, the best alternative musicians very often are not macho, cisgender hetero men. How about that? Well, I never...
Tonight we present :
Kings Queer (France)
"Amours et révoltes" (love and revolt) is their motto! This political two-piece party band are on constant tour across the world, and we managed to grab them for Scotland on their way! Performance art, queer politics and experimental pop music all meet in one fabulous show and you will LOVE them!
Ladies of Midnight Blue (Newcastle)
Ladies of Midnight Blue is an international female percussion & brass ensemble currently based out of Newcastle and have played for many LGBT socials, festivals, and private events in the USA, the UK and South Africa. Their music consists of powerful and upbeat combinations of drums, brass, vocal chants, and mbira compositions that summons audience participation and creates the perfect party atmosphere!
Ste McCabe (Edinburgh)
Described as everything from "a national treasure" and a "punk poet for the people" to "offensive and bordering on insane" by the UK music press, Ste McCabe is a one man political disco-punk party machine who has been provoking love and hate in equal measure since 2006. Queer anger has never been so much fun, so get your dancing feet on!
(Unfortunately the amazing Zorras, who were originally billed, have had to pull out)
Followed by queer electro disco party HOT MESS!
