Bio
Formed in early 2008, Short in the Sleeve are carving a niche in the Memphis scene with their unique brand of engaging, literate folk-pop. The four-piece is comprised of singer/guitarist Jason Middlekauff, lead guitarist/keyboardist Chris Mirante, bassist Kyle Reed, and drummer Kevin Jenkins, who replaced Jeremy Anderson in June. Having played local venues for over a year, the band recorded their debut EP, Field Day, at Young Avenue Sound in late February. The four-song collection ranges from shimmering folk-pop to spare Americana, matching tales of self-destruction, love, bitterness, and faith with smart, melodic songcraft.

The band will take a hiatus from performing in June as Jason and his wife await the arrival of their first child, but they're set to take to the stage again in July with several new tunes in tow.
