Shelta were formed at the back end of 2007 after Joe Wyatt answered  Mike's ‘wanted' add in a musicians online forum. They soon realised that they had many things in common and musically traded tunes in readiness for their first offering as a song writing collaboration. This song was to be called Beautiful Girl, having all the hallmarks of great classic Brit pop. In the wings waiting to assist Joe and Mike are Jago Robins and Chris Cawley on drums and bass respectively. Mike, Chris and Jago have been friends since school and have also played in a band together called Detour,( check em out on Mike's page, myspace.com/se9mike) so it was a ‘just add water' situation and the band was made!! Shelta will be in the studio in the coming weeks rehearsing their live set in preparation for a bunch of spring gigs, details are yet to be confirmed. Followed by some targeted London dates in the early summer and hoping to get some festival slots also. The road ahead for Shelta is to continue to collate the right material for their first album as a band, demo them , wack em on myspace, get them recognised, get them out there playing the tunes live and take it from there, but as a rule, they want to just enjoy what they do!
