SHEELA LANGEBERG-Internationally renowned and multi award winning playwright, director, author, storyteller, African dancer and performer. She's one of Australia's most thermatic exports. She's one of the most influantial and most written about Africans in Australia in more than a decade now.

Some critics have described this vibrant artist as simply "Sheer theatrical Magic"

Born, raised and educated in Kilimanjaro-Tanzania before going to Scandinavia for further studies, Sheela now resides in Adelaide-australia where she continue to pursue her hectic life style as an all round artist, teacher/motivator and mother to her twins.

Sheela has written 59 solo stage plays and musical dramas for all ages and toured them around the globe;Tanzania, Australia, Ireland, Canada, USA, Greece, China, India,  Sweden, Kenya, Uganda-just to name a few. And like all Sheela's stories, NDITO THE MASAI GIRL is both a popular stage play, radio drama and a book for school aged children. She hopes to develope some animation series from this book sometime.  A dozen more stories and plays including Sheela's own autobiography book  "UNDER THE RED JACARANDA" are waiting for publishers and film-makers to come forward.

Sheela's also a poet and has written and performed 10 poems, 4 dance/text productions and written an anthology  "GOING IT ALONE"  (KIT BRENNAN-CANADA) together with other various writers around the world. right now sheela is writing a children's musical (SALMA-The Girl From The Africa Roof) to be premiered at The Adelaide Festival Theatre in August  before touring schools around Australia right after. Sheela's also working on the production of her new Album "Chants Of My Life" to be released 2008. Her award winning solo stage play " MAIJA OF CHAGGALAND" which is a true story about Sheela's mighty own mother MAIJA and  "AFRICA" have been touring around the globe doing between 150-200 shows a year since staged for the first time in Adelaide in 1994. Her other productions "AMANDINA",  "NDITO THE MASAI GIRL"   "DANCE CELEBRATES LIFE" seem to be following that path. In most cases, Sheela finds herself  touring between 2-3 productions or events at one time.

Between Sep-Nov 2006, Sheela was in Sweden taking part in a highly anticipated production of  "BLACK MADONNA" written especially for Sheela and with her in the leading role of  MARY OF NAZARETH. The season was totally sold out!

Sheela has also appeared in a few films especially in Australia and hopes to do more. This comsument and spellbinding performers work has captivated millions. Those who have seen her continue to invite her back year after year. Her style of writing has been described as unique. Her talents have mesmerized many. Her energy on stage has left many in owe. Her stricking looks continue to invoke interests  from  both the media and individuals around the planet. This is only the begining of a story...
