Ask Shawn Trey Miller anything...
Q: Where did you come up with "Homa"? I was born and raised in Western Okla and have never heard this term??? And I'm 51yrs old. I think the song is KickAss, but you lost me at "Homa"...?
A: Hey there!...thanks for the listens and I'm sure glad you dig the song....well, being born in Oklahoma and raised out in the country, the people that were in my life when I was a kid, the character they had, pride in their work, taking care of their families and their strength & faith made me feel safe as a little kid and at "home" and at peace in a world that can be pretty darn rough at times.....so, in constructing the song, OKLAHOMA, it's kinda like the Lord above threw me some lyrics and said "run with it"...so I did. To me, Oklahoma is "home"...and always will be...."Homa" is my semi-slang twist on things meaning "home" and it fit the flow of the song...and there are also towns across the state with 'homa" in the name....so, with the music and melody of the song, it just fit......Good question there...thank you!......I sure do appreciate the support and hope to keep plugging away with more songs in the future. I hope 2015 is the best year yet for you and yours. STM
