Singer/songwriter/pianist Sharon (Sharona) Clarke is a proud Newfoundlander from Springdale, currently living and working in Mount Pearl/St. John’s. She is proud to be a Newfoundlander because Newfoundland is known for its unique culture, yet she has something unique to bring to Newfoundland music. Rather than traditional folk, Celtic, Irish or country, she brings to the table a smart pop sense combined with her unique voice, flavored with her classically-trained keyboard stylings and vibrant stage presence.

In 2002, she helped to form local cover band Blue Eyed Blonde as front-woman keyboardist and vocalist alongside lead singer Denielle Hann. The band have shared the stage with such classic acts as Trooper, Dr. Hook, and Honeymoon Suite, as well as current favorites The Trews, Hedley and Rex Goudie. Six years with BEB -- which is known for its high-energy stage show, visual appeal, and for packing the dance floors -- has helped shape and define her identity as a performer and has provided the opportunity to step out as a dynamic solo artist.
Her solo shows, armed with just her keyboards and her voice, prove that she is equally comfortable banging out an upbeat pop/rock or even a dance song as she is with her signature ballads, often silencing the captivated crowd with her smooth, clear voice.

Her debut CD, released November 2008, showcases her skills as a singer/songwriter, as well as her knack for musical arrangement and detail. All twelve songs were written solely by Sharona or co-written with friend and colleague Tsitsi Wight. Recorded long-distance over a period of about 2-1/2 years, it is a delightful collection of piano pop, sprinkled with inspiring, straight-from-the-heart lyrics, and a masterful sense of mood and composition. Sharon herself took a large role in the production, editing, arrangement, mixing, and even the artwork. It is a worthy debut for a relative newcomer to the market, which proves her life-long musical experience and dedication.

Sharona is a jack-of-all-trades in the music industry, a stand-out in the Newfoundland music scene, with the talent and motivation to take her to the international scene. The journey has just begun. ____________________________________________________
