“Met in NYC" is one of those curious cases in wich the music is really much better than the film. Anyway, even being a good movie, it would be almost impossible overlook this excelent soundtrack. With great sensitivity, Sergio Pena, has composed some beautiful melodies that become in leit-motivs that give meaning to the whole story. With sober and elegant arrangements, Pena alternates guitar and piano as solo instruments, giving us his personal and respectful version of the clasic and melancholic atmosphere of New York. Without any doubt, a film based on a play by Capote, and of course, better than "Met in NY", would have been a more appropriate destination for this score. After working tirelessly in many short films and documentaries, Sergio Pena signs his second feature film with obvious talent, and I wait anxiously his next job.”
