Final Open Mic of THC under current management. It was a bittersweet night, not knowing if I'd ever play there again. I had played every week that month, but this one was special. It was PACKED with people and artists. Luckily, I was able to play my "hit" song, Futbol Mexicano, one last time. I stayed the whole night, leaving after 1am. Some artists & events were captured that night (and others) on video by Original Mechanical Mouse for his upcoming mini-documentary of THC.
Went up at 10pm, slightly earlier than expected since 2 acts before me disappeared. Got a decent crowd, too.
Me and Todd played to a great crowd there. Video on page.
Weekly Open Mic. I played at around 1130pm to a very receptive audience, premiering "Unemployment Compensation Blues." :-)
Gasthaus' new Open Mic, hosted by Andrew Moore. Now every week! My first official solo show in Elgin EVER. Went down pretty well, apart from the stage's speaker setup. TONS of feedback due to the monitors being in FRONT of the main speakers and CRANKED up to 11.
