As a child, I grew up around music. My Father was an evangelist as well as a singer/guitar player and my mother was a bass player. I began singing at age 12 and I was a member of my church gospel choir. At 14 I was enrolled in LaGuardia high school of music, art and performing arts. Before rapping I was singing. Trained by some great musicians and vocal instructors in sight singing and performance, I have had the privilege of singing and composing a diverse selection of genres ranging from classical to jazz to R&B to gospel to rap. Also trained in music theory, I attained a lot of musical knowledge.
Being the son of a Pastor had its up's and down's. Every body I knew figured that since I was the Pastors son that I was a "goody two shoes". Unfortunately they were wrong. I've had my share of trials and tribulations and I am thankful to God that he has brought me a MIGHTY long way. I have played the role of "Christian" so that people would be pleased but in reality my life was going no where. Almost losing my life in 2003 was the “wake up call” my soul needed. Through his mercy and grace I realized what the meaning to this life really is. I want my music and my life to be an inspiration to all who listen to it. I want my music to be heard around the world and affect both young and old audiences alike. I want GOD to be glorified.
Sometimes I ask myself, Why do most secular artists portray fake lifestyles? Is anybody real anymore? Why Should I be ashamed to be who I was created to be?
In a world where everybody strives to conform to whatever is popular, I try my best to be unique and bold in my belief that Jesus Christ died so that the world would have hope. It is this hope that motivates me to use the gift I was given to reach all peoples so that they may be inspired to share the same message of hope with others.
Being a Gangster, Drug Dealer, Pimp or a murderer is a popular thing to achieve in today’s society. However, being a good father, good student, good role model and a Christian is not. But trends were made to be broken and I desire a change to the way things are going. If you are tired of the way things are and want to make a change then come on over to this side. Let Christ reign.
