Q: Hi. So what's the story on "Heart Headed Home"? What was the inspiration for it?
A: I am involved in prison ministry and we have a weekly worship service. One night a man came at the same time the funeral was being held for his son who we were told was killed in a car crash. He told us the best place he could be that night was with brothers who could surround him with God's love. It impacted me that in that moment of tragedy, he chose God over anything else. A few days later, I came across a Max Lucado devotional that talked about living with your heart headed home, that heaven is our home and now we are caught between this earthly dwelling and our final destination. I instantly thought of this man, his son and that, through Christ's redemptive power on the cross, they would one day be together.
