Scicoustic

Scicoustic has been the brainchild of Albert Meintjes. In 2000 Albert left the gunsmithing trade to pursue his music career .He has been no stranger to music and performed from an early age on stages around South Africa.

Albert joined up with his brother Gideon Meintjes, an outstanding drummer with his own drumming school to start the Scicoustic journey. Gideon’s history can be viewed at www.gmds.co.za.

They approached Jorik Pienaar, who at this stage finished his degree in jazz, to join as percussionist and guitarist and also Garth De Meillon to join on bass.

The sound was born..A rhythmic percussion sound with acoustic harmony, strong melody, and clever poetry all added up and ever since has entertained audiences all over South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Seychelles, and in Europe.

Then in late 2003, Billa Pansegrouw joined Scicoustic, with his amazing Didgeridoo and Percussion sounds, and this added to the, almost world music sound the band has today. Acoustic rock with a strong African influence and exactly where they want to be..

Albert writes about everyday life experiences and mainly about love..That is why the band got the love song reputation over the years and the audiences flow to venues to see this great act.

Scicoustic is one of the most uplifting and energetic bands and will not disappoint audiences for their ability to connect and entertain has no limit.
