About
Pop/Rock singer/songwriter Sarah Oberland has a clear voice and strong message. A Minnesota native, Sarah Oberland was instilled with Mid-Western values at a very early age. By the time she was ten years old Sarah Oberland’s powerful voice had garnished her singing engagements in schools, fairs and churches as well as talent shows all over the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
After years of performing and perfecting her craft, Sarah’s path eventually crossed with her now manager/producer, Ben Obi of Savannah Street Music. Sarah and Ben Obi developed an immediate bond and went on to record lead and backing vocals on several demos projects, eventually recording Sarah Oberland’s debut album, the October 2008 release, A Girl Needs Space (Koch Entertainment/ Reodeo Records/ Savannah Street Music).
As an artist with a message and in support of US troops, Sarah Oberland has traveled all over the world singing in AFE and USO tours in South Korea, Honduras, and Guantanamo Bay. Several songs on A Girl Needs Space appear in the Independent Las Vegas film Siren. An inspirational movie about fulfilling dreams; a story that is close to Sarah’s heart.
A Girl Needs Space fuses pop and rock with a little R&B. With songs like Leaving The Ordinary Behind, Only Drug and A Girl Needs Space, Sarah Oberland’s music effortlessly reaches and connects with the 16 to 28 year-old female audience. Her message – Good is the new bad! The ‘good girl’ ultimately wins out.
