THOMAS Hometown: Nashville TN / SLC, UT Genre: Earth Folk Earthfolk yoga songstress Ashlee K Thomas was raised at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains in Sandy, Utah. Growing up in the magic of nature had a profound effect on Ashlee, and its influence is ever present in her songwriting. She has spent years traveling the world, exploring, practicing yoga, and sharing her music in the farthest flung corners of the earth. Ashlee K Thomas’s introduction to music began at the tender age of four, when she began studying violin in the Suzuki method. Though twelve years of violin gave Ashlee many fantastic opportunities, such as playing with the Utah Symphony, Igor and Vesna Grupman, and Joseph Silverstein, and receiving a music scholarship to college, picking up the guitar and singing is when Ashlee truly found her musical voice. A lyricist by nature, Ashlee K Thomas’s words are refreshingly honest and to the core. She quickly developed her own musical style of beautiful melodies intertwined with daunting key changes. This sound, combined with her writing and natural gift of pitch, evolved into the unique genre that can only be called Earthfolk.
