About
Atlanta, Georgia (June 29, 2009) – After over three years of touring tirelessly across the
country, Atlanta-based musician Sam Thacker will release his highly anticipated sophomore
album, Lines, on Tuesday, August 4. Lines will be available online and at all live shows,
including a special release show at local favorite Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta, Georgia on
Thursday, August 27.
“I spent a lot of time between a van, an SUV and a bus driving across the country playing
music – following broken lines along highways and back roads to and from places I’d never
been before,” says Thacker. “Every song on this album was shaped, in some way, by those
stripes that lead me away from and back to my home.”
Making the album, Thacker teamed up with renowned producer, Russ-T Cobb (Avril Lavigne,
Bowling For Soup, Butch Walker) and collaborated with some of south’s most celebrated
artists, including Corey Smith, Aslyn, and Ryan Newell of Sister Hazel. The result is a decided
step forward from his 2005 debut, Above the Underneath. While Thacker’s sincere songwriting
remains rooted in singer/songwriter tradition, he delivers these tunes with sweeping anthemic
choruses that point to the influence of larger-than-life rock bands.
Sam Thacker is hitting the road again this summer with his full band and new album in tow. For
fans who can’t wait to get their hands on Lines, the album can be ordered online at
www.samthacker.com and downloaded on iTunes.
