Now here's my semi-serious bio...
The Life and Times of Sam Honey
Born Samantha Dionne Brown, December 1982; Brisbane, Queensland, Australia to British parents – who both swear to this day that her first words weren't spoken but sung.
Madonna was her childhood idol, even dressing up like the icon, complete with wig and cone boobs, singing ‘Like a Virgin', causing her parents much embarrassment, as the school sent her home.
The little diva's talents were nurtured however, and she began singing lessons at age thirteen. While the other kids were learning the words to Ice Ice Baby, Sam was writing her own songs; while they were squealing along to the Spice Girls, Sam was singing to her dad's old Motown Records; while they were playing with their Tamagotchis and learning the Macarena, Sam was earning money busking at
She also began to hone her guitar skills and, two years later, at the unusually young age of fifteen, Sam was accepted onto a scholarship at the Academy of Music; the minimum age requirement at the time was eighteen. Fully free to immerse herself in music, she began training in many different styles including jazz, blues and opera.
The next few years in the life of late-teen / early twenties Sam proved to be a personal rollercoaster of high drama and heavy emotion, as with many of us, but her songwriting helped her through it. She chronicled those experiences in her songs, and between 2002 and 2007, together with Ivan, she wrote and recorded approximately thirty tracks. These were finally streamlined into a twelve-track album of polished, defined, kick-ass rock-pop.
From the teen-angst rock of ‘Bitchy Girls' and ‘Self-Inflicted' to the melancholic drum ‘n' bass influenced ‘I Just Wanna Miss You', this debut album has something that everyone can relate to and is a culmination of many years of dedication by Sam and all who have encouraged and supported her.
