Ruth and Max Bloomquist have been making music together since they met in 1975 and discovered a common love for practically any music that features acoustic instruments and lyrics that touch the heart. Their bluegrass influenced acoustic Americana is the stuff of rustic romantic dreams. With Ruth’s songwriting and rich alto voice, a guitar, upright bass, and a bit of harmony they make you believe every word of every song. Ruth was honored as a winner of the Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at Merlefest in 2003 and has showcased as a songwriter at the IBMA World of Bluegrass Conference.
