There is always a tight, core group of musicians and techies leading The Heard in whatever direction it goes, headed by producer and live digital instrumentalist Zach W.. Like a mad scientist, Zach is always finding new ways to manipulate the organic sounds fed to him by his instrumentalists and vocalists and twist them into something completely futuristic and electronic. Glitching out banjo, guitar and organ riffs and bass lines right out from under lead singer Mac Hunter's and bassist Pat Binns' fingers.

A mastermind of musical talent, Mac Hunter can pick up any instrument and bring an audience to simultaneous eargasms. Whether Hammering intricate patterns on the drums during electro/hip hop dance songs or twanging on his banjo for a ballad and singing poetic lyrics with the vocal strength of a banshee, Mac hunter will give you an organic taste amidst an electronic smorgasbord.

Another very delicious, organic sound in the band comes from bassist Pat Binns. Plucking basslines on his Jazz Bass or sliding his fingers along his electric upright, Binns provides a heavy backbone to The Heard's sound.

With the twangy, rock and country-esque vocals, heavy, electro-dance drums and synths along with funky, sliding upright basslines, The Heard adds a huge pipe full of energy to their live show with 3 hyper, hip hop influenced vocalists. While seasoned in the local Vancouver hip hop scene, these 3 "MCs" are more versatile than your typical rapper. Sean AKA Kaboom can get the crowd hyped on a club hip hop banger, or hit notes Prince wishes he could on ballads and indie/electro dance songs. Providing harmonies, energetic raps and stage chemistry like no other, Joe and Shay will keep the audience clapping their hands, jumping around and singing along the whole time.

One of the main focuses of The Heard's show is the live visuals. Playing along, in sync with the music, Kev provides the audience something to laugh at, cringe at, or be hypnotized by for the whole ride. A master at finding hidden gems, Kev will show you things you've never seen and give you a glimpse into his insane mind.

The Heard can easily adapt to any audience. Whether at a Folk festival, Punk show, or Rave, it's already been proven to their wide range of fans that they can please the ears of an audience no matter what they want to hear.

In just a short time the members of The Heard have already played close to a hundred shows and shared the stage with the likes of: Tegan and Sara, Raekwon of the Wutang Clan, Josh Martinez, Diana Krall, Souls of Mischief, Wide Mouth Mason, Corb Lund, Cunninlinguists, Sweatshop Union and have collaborated and played with Moka Only and Fake Shark Real Zombie who's lead singer Kevin is playing regular shows with The Heard.

Along with the extensive shows, The Heard has been the subject of many photographers, bloggers and news reports. Recently, Zach W. of the Heard was featured on CBC News: The National for being included on K-OS' new CD.
